It’s worth going through some pre-interview action to make sure nothing last minute comes up. Here are just a few tips:
- Make sure you know exactly where you will be going and can get there in plenty of time. If you’re using public transport, ride the route to get all the stops and changes figured out, or if you’re driving, drive the route the day before, and take into consideration how much traffic there may be.
- Check to see if your interview clothes need to be laundered and drop them off in plenty of time.
- Print out fresh copies of your resume to take, especially if you were initially asked to submit a text version of your resume in response to the job posting.
- Plan to arrive in good time, you can always wait in a convenient nearby location and do some last minute checks on your interview materials, and check your personal appearance.
- Take a notebook and pen with you to take notes during the interview and to take notes afterwards.
- Take Thank You cards and stamps so you can write a thank you immediately after the interview while everything is fresh in your mind and post them before you get home.
