An elevator pitch is a succinct 30 second sound-bite that tells the other person about you and sets the scene to continue the conversation. You can have a different elevator pitch for different situations, and each will have the same core information just packaged up differently.

In addition to the different types of elevator pitches, it’s a good idea to have scripts prepared for other situations, here’s one such example.
Answering a call when your not ready for it, or not in the right place.
The script or main points you need for these situations include
a) Thank them for calling
b) Mention it’s not a good time,
c) Apologize for this,
d) Take the persons name, phone number and
e) Agree a time for YOU to call THEM back
Make sure you call them back. It’s important you call them as this will ensure the call will happen.
