21. Rejection Reply Letter.

<< Previous or Next >>

You’d like every opening you pursue to end with a firm job offer. For those times when you have been turned down, there is still an opportunity for you to build on the connections you’ve already made, maintain the good perception they have of you and a way to keep in regular contact for the next opportunity that comes along.

By sending a Rejection Reply Letter you acknowledge their decision, and can lay the ground work to keep in contact, thereby putting yourself in a lead position should another suitable opportunity come up.

How to construct rejection reply letter.

Seeking feedback:

Thank you for letting me know of your decision to choose another candidate for the open Marketing Assistant position.

While I am disappointed not to be chosen for the position, I would be most grateful if you would consider providing me with feedback on my application. I am keen to understand what areas I could strengthen making me a better candidate for the next opportunity.

I will call you on Thursday to arrange a convenient time.
Thank you in anticipation.

Share with other areas:

With reference to your letter of Aug 20, regarding the position of Researcher, I am disappointed that I was not successful on this occasion. I know my skills and abilities would be of great benefit to ABC Company and would like to be considered for similar positions within the organization.

I have enclosed another copy of my resume and will follow up with you in a week to see what other areas within ABC Company would benefit from my skills.

Interest in other position:

Thank you for inviting me to interview with you and David Brown for the position of Trainer, I was impressed with the organization and with the team.

During our interview the Course Developer position was discussed, and the changes required, came up on a number of occasions. My training background includes developing technical and non-technical training courses, and I know this is an area I can provide value to your group.

From the brief discussions I understand: -
The Challenges My Experience
Update out-dated Technical and system training materials. BCD Inc – updated the entire training manuals for the Sales and Customer Support areas.
Establish a consistent training methodology, structure. DEF Company – defined the strategic training plan for the whole organization and provided direction and guidance in the production of the supporting materials and changes.
Develop core leadership training. XYA Inc – Designed and created three courses, for new leaders, and those requiring refreshers, based on the Situational Leadership model.
Develop career advancement courses for trainers. LLA Company – Created a “Career Ladder” curriculum for trainers to enhance existing and develop new skills.

I would welcome the opportunity to explore the challenges further, and will be contact with you mid way through next week.

Keep in touch:
