The membership and affiliations section is your opportunity let the reader know you’re a current member of certain professional associations.

These organizations are usually recognized by others in the same profession, and your participation in them will reinforce how invested and involved you are in your field. In addition to including the organization’s name and location include your position and a line or two about what you did or achieved for them. This will give you an additional opportunity to showcase other skills and achievements you may not have acquired through work.

The choice of what to include or exclude is based on the job and the company. Only include those membership and affiliations that are relevant to the needs of the position or fit with the company.
